How Does Technology Help The Elephant Overcome The Rope?

A gigantic animal like an elephant can be controlled and restrained by using a very thin rope without any difficulty. The elephant is tied with a thick rope when it is very young. The calf tries to escape but fails to do so. Over the years, the elephant realizes that it is impossible to overcome the rope. When the calf grows up, its mind is conditioned in such a manner that even the flimsiest rope is enough to prevent escape. It is kept under control because its mind is conditioned to the belief that it is impossible to escape from the rope.

Those who criticize dependence on technology suffer from the same problem. Mankind has struggled with its limitations since the beginning. We do not possess the eye sight of the owl, the speed of the leopard, the claws and teeth of predators or the ability to fly like birds. Nature has always been against us and we have overcome our limitations by focusing on survival

Today, technology helps us see an individual situated thousands of miles away and this has placed us in a position of strength against nature. Each and every physical limitation that nature has imposed upon us can be overcome using technology. Needless to say, those who are not used to this technology are those whose minds have become accustomed to playing second fiddle to nature. They are the ones who think the rope is unbreakable.

Hence, it is important to get rid of old thoughts and mindsets and move ahead to better options. Technology can not just improve lives but can also help people understand a new perspective about life.
